"Novaya Gazeta": police suspect Isa Yamadaev of plotting attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov

The Chechen police have trailed organizers of the failed assassination attempt on the life of Ramzan Kadyrov in Benoi, including the Yamadaev family members, the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening of October 2, 2016, the "Novaya Gazeta" published an article prepared by Elena Milashina. In her article, the journalist reported the information on prevention of another attempt to assassinate the leader of Chechnya.

According to the "Novaya Gazeta", in the past week, the 4th Department for Particularly Important Cases of the Investigating Department for Chechnya of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has opened a criminal case under Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Russian   Federation "Infringement on life of a statesman or a public figure". It is about the investigation into the failed assassination attempt on the life of Ramzan Kadyrov in Benoi, the "Novaya Gazeta" reports in the article "Recent attempt on Kadyrov", published today on the newspaper's website.

The criminal case was instituted after the detention in Gudermes of three men, including Aziz Alviev. According to the report of the local police, the detainees have confessed that they were plotting to commit in the territory of the Nozhai-Yurt District an attempt to assassinate Ramzan Kadyrov using grenade launchers, automatic firearms, and explosive devices.

"Isa Bekmirzaevich Yamadaev is the organizer of the assassination attempt on the leader of the ChechenRepublic," the "Novaya Gazeta" quotes Lieutenant Colonel Timur Mezhidov, the chief of the Centre to Combat Extremism (CCE) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the ChechenRepublic, as reporting.
