Lisov, detained in Spain, suspected of designing computer virus

Stanislav Lisov, a programmer from the city of Taganrog, who was arrested in Barcelona, is suspected of designing malicious software, the Spanish police has announced today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 13, Stanislav Lisov was arrested in Barcelona, as specified by the Spanish police, by the requests received from the FBI and the Interpol.

Stanislav Lisov was arrested in cooperation with the FBI; he was wanted in the USA on suspicion of involvement in the network engaged in "computer hacking and frauds with the use of electronic means," says the statement of the Spanish Civil Guard (Police) released today.

The statement notes that Lisov, acting jointly with others, had designed and used the so-called "banking Trojan" named "NeverQuest", intended to obtain "access to computers of different persons and financial institutions with the aim to steal bank details, credit card info and personal data." The statement of the Spanish Police stated that the damage caused by Lisov's action is about 5 million US dollars, the TASS reports.
