Militants killed in Grozny buried in unmarked graves

Bodies of the militants killed in the Chechen capital on December 17-18, 2016 have not been finally given out to their family members, who learned that their killed relatives were buried in unmarked graves near Grozny. Meanwhile, the law enforcement agencies do not comment on the information.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 17, 2016, several attacks on the police occurred in Grozny, and the responsibility for the attacks was claimed by the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia by court's decision and recognized as a terrorist organization. It was reported that three law enforcers and seven suspected militants were killed.

A close female relative of one of the killed young men, who preferred to remain anonymous, reported that the bodies of the militants killed during the December special operation had been already buried.

"We were told by a source from the law enforcement agencies that the bodies of the young men killed in a shootout with the police had been buried last week. The source did not tell us where they had been buried, since he was not aware," the woman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the woman, her husband and sons, like men from other families of the killed militants, left the city for the places of their relatives living outside Grozny.

"A blood feud has been declared, and the men have to hide and to be cautious. Meanwhile, we hope very much that the situation can be resolved, since the people directly guilty of killing the policemen were also killed," says the woman.
