CTO legal regime lifted in two districts of Dagestan

This evening, law enforcers have cancelled the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime, which was earlier introduced within a single section of the Buynaksk and Karabudakhkent Districts of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at 1:00 Moscow time of January 17, the CTO legal regime was introduced in two districts of Dagestan. According to an official of the Dagestani Operational Headquarters of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), law enforcers were searching for militants and their accomplices.

On January 17, local residents questioned by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported that they were unaware of the CTO legal regime in the Buynaksk and Karabudakhkent Districts and received no formal notification of the introduction of any restrictions.

According to the NAC's Operational Headquarters in Dagestan, law enforcers have made a decision to lift the CTO legal regime within a single section of the Buynaksk and Karabudakhkent Districts of Dagestan.

As at 6:40 p.m. Moscow time, no information about the results of the special operation has been reported.
