Residents of Volzhski against payment for missed kindergarten days
The decision of the authorities of the city of Volzhski to collect, starting from January, the fee from parents for their kids' non-attendance of kindergartens without a valid reason will strike family budgets, parents said. In its turn, the Mayoralty explains that the measure will enable an efficient use of budgetary funds.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 25, 2015, the cities of Volgograd, Volzhski and Kamyshin and the settlement of Bereslavka, Kalachyovsky District, hosted pickets against reduction of kindergarten staff and increased fees for preschool establishments.
To get a doctor's certificate (a valid reason not to go to kindergarten), one has wait in a line with all the risk of catching an infection, Olga Demidova, a resident of Volzhski, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Over the last 2-2.5 years the Mayoralty has twice increased the kindergarten fee; then, they cancelled the 50-percent deduction to large families, Oksana Ptushkina, a mother of many children from Volzhski, has added.
"If we'll have to pay 100 percent, it's better to stay at home with children," said Tatiana Domanova, another mother of a large family from the same city.
Meanwhile, the statement, posted on January 11 on the website of the Mayoralty of Volzhski, says that the parental fees for kindergartens have not been increased for two years, despite the inflation.
There is nothing surprising in the decision, said Alexander Kudryavtsev, a Deputy of the Volzhski City Duma from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF). According to his story, "to get money for its needs, the city has to get into pockets of young children's parents."
