Georgian opposition calls on to condemn Russia's actions in Syria

The oppositional "United National Movement" (UNM) has called on the Georgian Parliament to adopt a resolution in connection with the events in Aleppo; and the UNM has brought in a respective draft.

According to the opposition, the resolution should condemn Russia's destructive actions in Syria. "We believe that the Parliament must fix its position. The resolution will state solidarity with Syrian people, with the people who are in a very acute humanitarian crisis and catastrophe. The resolution will emphasize that Georgia, being a responsible actor in the region, is closely monitoring this problem and this crisis, and is actively expressing its position. Of course, it will also condemn the destructive role of the Russian Federation," the "Georgia-Online" quotes Sergi Kapanadze, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, as saying.
