As a result of a shootout in Grozny, four militants were killed and two others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Besides, an inspector of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) was injured. This was reported by Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in evening of December 17, six residents of Grozny barricaded themselves in a house and opened fire on law enforcers. A counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced. According to a source of the "Caucasian Knot", six people were killed in the shootout.

"It was reported that in the Oktyabrsky District, a group of armed men attacked a policeman and seized his car. The police immediately launched the interception plan. Several minutes later, it became known that the group of attackers broke into a house of another policeman in the other place, but failed to meet him at home and fled. After a short period of time, the police managed to reveal the location of the car with the criminals," said Ramzan Kadyrov.

When a DPS inspector tried to stop the car with the attackers, he was hit by the car. The people opened fire from the car. "The criminals were neutralized by return fire. Two of them were brought to hospital, and four others were killed," reported the Chechen leader as quoted by the "TASS".
