Suspect of killing UFSIN employee detained in Dagestan

An employee of the Dagestani Department of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (known as the UFSIN) was killed in the evening on December 2 in Makhachkala; a suspect is detained, said Irina Volk, the official spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

According to her story, on December 2, near one of the houses in the settlement of Zagorodny, Kirovsky District of Makhachkala, "an unidentified person made a shot at the UFSIN employee, and fled in a car."

The victim died in place from the received gunshot wounds, Ms Volk said, adding, as quoted by the TASS: "Policemen have detained a suspect of committing the murder; and now they take steps to identify and detain other accomplices in the crime."
