Ecologist reports on theft of Ramzan Kadyrov's sheep

Valery Brinikh, the chairman of the All-Russian Society for Protection of Environment, has filed to the police a complaint with a request to verify the information stating that some sheep sent to Adygea by the order of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov for Eid al-Adha were not allocated to the poor. According to the ecologist, who also sent an appeal to Ramzan Kadyrov, the sheep were stolen by local officials.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Chechen authorities announced that on the eve of Eid al-Adha, the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation distributed to needy people of the republic 30,000 heads of sheep and cattle, and the same number of sheep was sent to the southern regions of Russia, including Adygea.

On December 1, Valery Brinikh filed to the Department for Maikop of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) a complaint with a request to verify the information stating that some sheep out of the flock sent to Adygea from Chechnya for Eid al-Adha were not allocated to the poor.

A day earlier, Valery Brinikh has reported that he had sent an appropriate letter to Ramzan Kadyrov.

"Dear Ramzan Akhmatovich! People are indignant about this and other actions of our leaders, but they are afraid to speak about it out loud. I am one of those who are not afraid of. Unfortunately, there are a few of us, and my experience of the struggle against corruption shows that the law enforcement authorities of Adygea and the Prosecutor's Office will do nothing and, vice versa, will try to hush up the case. Given that by their act those people who stole 640 sheep infringed your honour, I believe it is a point of honour to provide objective and complete investigation into the crime," Valery Brinikh emphasizes in his letter.
