Yashin tells about threats to Nemtsov

Prior to his murder, the politician Boris Nemtsov regularly received threats; and he turned on the occasion to law enforcement bodies, Ilya Yashin, Deputy Chairman of the PARNAS Party, said at the today’s court session. He also pointed out that Boris Nemtsov mentioned his possible shadowing.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 3 the Moscow District Military Court began considering, with the participation of the jury, Boris Nemtsov’s murder case. Today, the court has satisfied the petition to question Ilya Yashin, a Nemtsov’s fellow party member, and the journalist Alexander Ryklin.

Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. Within his murder case five natives from Chechnya and Ingushetia were arrested, including Zaur Dadaev, brothers Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev. The criminal case also involves Chechen officers Ruslan Mukhudinov, Ruslan Geremeev, and Beslan Shavanov, who was killed during his detention.

During the questioning, Ilya Yashin mentioned that Boris Nemtsov spoke about a possible shadowing of him, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports from the courtroom.

"Our conversation took place in December 2014 in Yaroslavl. We jokingly talked about this’ and he said that it seemed to him that some people were following him. But he gave no specific details,” the witness told the court.

According to Ilya Yashin, Boris Nemtsov regularly received threats before his murder. "He often received threats; he even appealed to law enforcement bodies. Threats were public – posted in social networks, and personal. Some three years before his murder, he complained that threats were addressed to his son," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the witness as saying.

According to Yashin, those threatening tried to force Nemtsov to quit politics.
