Volgograd: 30 picketers demand to cancel kindergarten outsourcing

The provision of kindergarten nutrition by third parties (the so-called "outsourcing") will worsen its quality and increase the parental pay; the respective decision of the Volgograd City Duma shall be annulled, said the picketers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 9, the Deputies of the Volgograd City Duma approved the transfer of kindergarten nutrition to outsourcing. According to the Deputies, this will improve the food quality and optimize kitchen expenses.

The picket, held near the Central Bank, was 30 people strong, said Olga Cheburakova the organizer of the action and the chair of the movement "Volgograd Parents for Children's Rights".

"We got acquainted with the outsourcing experiences in other regions – it is sad; moreover with regard to kindergartens. The control over the quality of food, production process and the operator is poor. The most revolting is the fact that local MPs are making decisions, without consulting the general public," she said.

The picketers have adopted a resolution to be sent to the Volgograd Mayoralty, the Governor and the heads of the regional and city committees for education and sciences.
