In Shamil District, CTO prevents gathering of local residents

The gathering of residents of the villages of Verkhny Kolob, Kakhib, and Goor-Khindakh to discuss the progress of the investigation into the killing of the Gasanguseinov brothers, scheduled for November 13, is cancelled because of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) announced today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the CTO legal regime has been introduced in the Shamil District. According to the law enforcement authorities, the search for militants and their accomplices is underway.

"The CTO forced us to change our plans. We have discussed the situation and decided it is inappropriate to hold the gathering now. We will schedule it for a later date," said Djabulat Gasanov, a member of the working group created to seek an objective investigation into the killing of the Gasanguseinov brothers.

Members of the working group do not rule out that the CTO legal regime has been introduced in order to prevent the gathering of the local residents, the "Chernovik" (Draft) reports.

Earlier, members of the working group have stated that during a month, owners of premises in Makhachkala refuse them for different reasons.

In turn, Dagestani Ombudsman Ummupazil Omarova has appealed to the Prosecutor's Office with a request to verify the information on the killing of the Gasanguseinov brothers, the "Our Version in Northern Caucasus" reports.
