Ramazan Djalaldinov reports about threats from Chechen law enforcers

Today, Ramazan Djalaldinov, a disappeared resident of the village of Kenkhi, has contacted Svetlana Gannushkina, the head of the Committee "Civil Assistance". He has told her that he had left the republic after Chechen law enforcers voiced threats against him and asks not to look for him. Ramazan Djalaldinov may face danger in Chechnya. This opinion was voiced by residents of Chechnya, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

The disappearance of Ramazan Djalaldinov was reported by his relatives on November 7. The Chechen Ombudsman assumes that the incident is a provocation against the authorities of Chechnya.

According to Ramazan Djalaldinov, he was threatened that in case if he "did not stop raising the problems of the village, then he would share the fate of the killed Yamadaev brothers (opponents of Ramzan Kadyrov, brothers Sulim and Ruslan Yamadaev, note of the 'Caucasian Knot'), human rights defender Natalia Estemirova, and politician Boris Nemtsov," Svetlana Gannushkina wrote to Facebook.

"At night, Ramazan Djalaldinov managed to leave the village and with risk to his life to overcome the mountain pass of Chentyk between Chechnya with Dagestan," reports the human rights defender.

According to an official from the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the information about the disappearance of Ramazan Djalaldinov was disseminated by the media, while his relatives filed no complaints about his disappearance and did not request the law enforcement authorities to look for him.

In the case of the disappearance of Ramazan Djalaldinov, the attitude of the law enforcement authorities is similar to the situation with Khizir Ezhiev, a lecturer of the Grozny University, notes Ramzan, a member of a public organization.
