In Makhachkala, 334 people still stay in hospitals after poisoning

In Makhachkala, 334 people, including 237 children, still stay in hospitals with symptoms of acute intestinal infection. This was reported by a source from the Dagestani Ministry for Emergencies (MfE).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to the Dagestani Ministry for Public Health, in the period from October 31 to November 1, 136 people were brought to Makhachkala hospitals with symptoms of acute intestinal infection, in the period from November 1 to 2 102 people, from November 2 to 3 97 people. According to the Ministry for Public Health, the outbreak of acute intestinal infection is declining.

On October 27, residents of Makhachkala claimed the supply of dirty water to the population after the works on the Miatli Hydro Power Plant (HPP). The "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Service for Consumer Supervision) held the "Makhachkalavodokanal" responsible for the mass poisoning. Residents of Makhachkala reported on the lack of the proper authorities' reaction on the mass poisoning.

The "Rospotrebnadzor" has announced that all the victims of the intestinal infections are to be vaccinated. On November 4, mass vaccination is underway in Makhachkala. According to the Dagestani Ministry for Public Health, as of November 6, 15,325 people were vaccinated.
