Magomed Nurbagandov's brother awarded posthumously

Vladimir Putin has signed a decree awarding Abdurashid Nurbagandov the Order of Courage. According to the leader of Dagestan, on July 10, the man was killed by militants after he came to the defence of his 10-year-old brother. Policeman Magomed Nurbagandov, an elder brother of Abdurashid Nurbagandov, was killed together with him after he had refused to call on his colleagues to quit their service at the police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 10, in the forest near the village of Sergokala, militants shot dead Abdurashid Nurbagandov, who came to the defence of his 10-year-old brother, kicked by a militant, and police officer Magomed Nurbagandov, an elder brother of Abdurashid Nurbagandov. On September 7, in a mobile phone of one of the militants killed in a special operation in Izberbash, law enforcers discovered a video record of the last moments of the life of the policeman, killed by the militants after he had refused to call on his colleagues to quit their service at the police, but addressed them with the words: "Work, brothers!"

On September 22, Vladimir Putin handed over the star of the Hero of Russia to the parents of Magomed Nurbagandov.

At the initiative of Ramazan Abdulatipov, Abdurashid Nurbagandov will be awarded the Order of Courage, reported the leader of Dagestan after his meeting with the President of Russia.

"At the meeting with President Vladimir Putin, I saw him signing a decree awarding Abdurashid Nurbagandov, who was killed together with his brother-hero, the Order of Courage," reported Ramazan Abdulatipov as quoted on November 3 by the RIA "Dagestan".
