Media report about detention of Chechen natives in Germany
The German law enforcement authorities have conducted several antiterrorist special operations in five federal states of Germany. 14 citizens of Russia, natives of Chechnya, are detained, the "Interfax" reports with reference to the local media without disclosing them.
The antiterrorist special operations were carried out by the German law enforcement authorities with involvement of the specialized operation armed response units (SEK) of the German state police in Thuringia, Hamburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony, and Bavaria, reports the police of Thuringia.
12 apartments and one refugee hostel have been searched. According to the law enforcement authorities, the searches are "associated with the financing of Islamist groupings." "Investigators do not point to a specific terrorist threat," report the police of Thuringia as quoted by the "TASS".
In the course of the antiterrorist operation, 14 citizens of Russia were detained. All of them are natives of Chechnya and registered as asylum-seekers whose status is under consideration, the "Interfax" reports with reference to the local media.
