In "Nardaran case," defendants complain about being beaten at SIZO

Talekh Bagirzade, the leader of the movement "Muslim Unity", Abbas Guseinov, another defendant in the "Nardaran case", have complained to the court that physicians had refused to register bodily harm inflicted to them by warders of the SIZO (pre-trial prison). Out of five policemen questioned as witnesses, four failed to confirm involvement of the defendants in the riots.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 3, the Baku Court for Grave Crimes started the trial in the "Nardaran case". On October 21, Talekh Bagirzade complained about beatings at the Kyurdakhani SIZO. He called on the judge to appeal to the relevant bodies to stop lawlessness at the SIZO.

Talekh Bagirzade has complained that his nose was damaged, but a physician refused to register the fracture.

Abbas Guseinov, another defendant, complained that as a result of torture, he got a tumour on his head, and a physician refused to register it.

Six staff members of the Sabunchu District Police Office were questioned as witnesses, and they reported about the events of November 5, 2015.

According to one of the witnesses, the believers, who gathered at the police station after the detention of Elchin Gasymov, the deputy chairman of the movement "Muslim Unity", used violence and had cold steel arms.

The defendants did not agree with that testimony. Talekh Bagirzade accused the policemen of arbitrariness and stated that they were confident of their impunity.
