Suspects killed in Kvanada identified as members of "Tsumada" grouping

Two suspects killed in a special operation in the village Kvanada of the Tsumada District were members of a local militant grouping. They went into hiding in 2014, but took refuge in one of the rural houses, report law enforcers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 21, counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the village of Kvanada. According to the law enforcement bodies, law enforcers were shelled, and thus the attackers were discovered. They refused to surrender, opened fire and were killed by return fire.

The special operation in the village of Kvanada was preceded by the operational activities of the Russian FSB. It was decided to introduce the CTO legal regime when it was reported that suspected militants were hiding in one of the private houses.

According to the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan, the killed suspects have been preliminary identified. Both of them were in hiding since 2014, after they joined the "Tsumada" grouping of militants. The killed suspects were involved in attacks on law enforcers and extortion of money from entrepreneurs.

In July 2014, the "Tsumada" militant grouping lost its two leaders at once. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), a special operation was carried out in the Tsumada District, during which Merza Abdulkerimov and his closest associate Magomed Khuchbarov were killed.

Let us remind you that on October 21, a shootout also occurred in the village of Stalskoe of the Stalskoe  District. Thus, during one day, four suspected militants were killed in the republic.
