Advocate Elena Denisenko associates her detention on outskirts of Dagestan with her professional activities

After her detention at the border between Dagestan and Chechnya, advocate Elena Denisenko has appealed to the Bar Association for the KrasnodarTerritory and the Prosecutor's Office with a request to protect her right to freedom of movement. According to Elena Denisenko, her detention is connected with her protection of a person accused of organization of terrorist activities, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 6, Elena Denisenko, an advocate of the Bar Association for the Krasnodar Territory, was got off a bus at the administrative border between Dagestan and Chechnya, when she was travelling from Makhachkala to Krasnodar. The advocate was released after a half-hour interrogation.

On October 12, advocate Elena Denisenko filed an appeal to the president of the Bar Association of the KrasnodarTerritory with a request to take part in solving the problems associated with her engagement in professional activities.

On October 13, Elena Denisenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she had sent by post the similar appeals to the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan and the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

According to the advocate, at present, she is engaged in representing the interests of Ramazanov, accused of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF) (Article 208) and of organization of terrorist activities (Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian   Federation).

Advocate Elena Denisenko associates her detention with her involvement in the above case.

"I and my client have three times filed a motion to appoint medical examination to register use of torture with electric current against my client. The motion was dismissed," the advocate told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Elena Denisenko has noted that the criminal case involves several law enforcers as witnesses.
