Buynaksk hunger-strikers complain about health deterioration

Eight participants of the hunger strike, who demand to cancel election outcomes in Buynaksk, state the worsening of their health condition and call doctors every day, but have no intention to stop their protest action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 28, Communist Party members went on hunger strike in Buynaksk, demanding to revise the voting results.

As of October 13, eight persons, representing CPRF, LDPR and "Yabloko" Party, continue their hunger strike.

"We have to call doctors every day, because people are very weak. For example, I've lost nine kilograms; I feel weakness, my blood tension drops all the time. Doctors use a dropper to adjust my blood tension," Kamil Shakhbulatov, a hunger-striker, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Still, the hunger-strikers reject hospitalization. "I'm not going to stop the action, we'll go to the end," Gerey Sadykov, another hunger-striker, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

On October 12, the protesters were visited by officials from the republic's prosecutor's office.

"The materials about election violations, which we had passed over on to the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC), were forwarded to the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office and the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the ICRF. The visitors assured us that the materials would be objectively considered, and that we should trust them. Also, they asked us to stop the hunger strike, but we'll continue it until we get results," Mr Shakhbulatov has concluded.
