NAC confirms killing of Abubakar Udziev in special operation

Abubakar Udziev, killed today in Gubden, was the leader of the grouping involved in killings of soldiers and civilians in the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, at 9:50 a.m. Moscow time, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime has been introduced in the village of Gubden. In the village, law enforcers cordoned off a house with suspected militants, and a shootout occurred. As a result, three militants, including Abubakar Udziev and his wife Khalimat Magomedova, were killed.

The NAC has reported that in the course of the CTO in Gubden, law enforcers "neutralized the leader of the militant grouping, involved in the killings of soldiers and civilians in the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan."

"According to the FSB Department for Dagestan, in 2012, after going into hiding, Abubakar Udziev was involved in a number of terrorist crimes, including the bombing of the motor convoy with soldiers and officers of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) near the village of Gubden in 2013, the murders of the head of the village administration and a resident of the village of Karamakhi in September 2015, and the murder of a resident of the village of Gubden in August 2016," reported the NAC as quoted by the "Interfax".

Meanwhile, the NAC reports about the killing in the special operation of Abubakar Udziev only. The NAC report contains no information about two other persons also killed in the special operation.
