Witnesses claim being forced to testify against Talekh Bagirzade

At the trial in the "Nardaran case", witnesses have claimed that after the detention, they were subjected to pressure to testify against Talekh Bagirzade, the chairman of the movement "Muslim Unity", reports the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 3, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes began the trial in the "Nardaran case". Talekh Bagirzade, the leader of the movement "Muslim Unity", and 17 other people were accused of committing a number of grave crimes. The defendants pleaded not guilty and claimed they had confessed under torture.

On October 10, a regular court hearing was held in the "Nardaran case". At the trial, the Court has questioned the witnesses on the episode associated with the confrontation between law enforcers and believers on November 5, 2015. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Yalchin Imanov, an advocate of Talekh Bagirzade.

"Witness Anar Aliev said that after the detention, believers in handcuffs were knocked to the floor and beaten with feet. Several people were forced to take off their pants. They were insulted, and then they were kept in a cool place until the morning. They were even not let to ease themselves. After the 'Nardaran events' ", they were subjected to torture. According to Anar Aliev, they were tortured with electric current and threatened by arrest of their parents, unless they agreed to testify against Talekh Bagirzade," said Yalchin Imanov.
