In Makhachkala, relatives of disappeared Dagestani residents come to protest action (+video)

In the centre of Makhachkala, about 50 people took part in the action, demanding from the authorities to reveal the whereabouts of Gashim Uzdanov, Pakhrudin Makhaev, Islam Magomedov, and Shamil Djamalutdinov. Their relatives believe that the disappeared men were detained by law enforcers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 2, relatives of Shamil Djamalutdinov and Islam Magomedov, two residents of Kaspiysk, filed complaint about their disappearance in late September. Shamil Djamalutdinov and Islam Magomedov were arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting militants, reported on October 3 a source from the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

According to the protestors, their relatives were included in the prevention registration list at the police.

"My husband is a businessman. He has a beard and adheres to the rituals and traditions of Sunnah. He has never been engaged in anything illegal. We went to Turkey for four months for medical treatment. After that, my husband was summoned to the police and asked what he was doing in Turkey," said Yaskhat, the wife of Islam Magomedov.

A police patrol has arrived in the square where the protest action takes place, and the law enforcers ask the protesters to leave the square.
