Defendants plead not guilty of Boris Nemtsov's murder

In the criminal case on the Boris Nemtsov's murder, public prosecutor has read out the indictment to the jury. Defendants said they pleaded not guilty.

The prisoners' dock contains five defendants, including Zaur Dadaev, brothers Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev. The criminal case also involves Chechen officers Ruslan Mukhudinov, Ruslan Geremeev, and Beslan Shavanov, who was killed during his detention.

Public prosecutor Maria Semenenko has read out the indictment, according to which "the crime was committed by order, for reward in the amount of 15 million roubles, by members of an organized criminal grouping."

"Ruslan Mukhudinov found an apartment, a car and weapons. Zaur Dadaev provided the major control over the members of the grouping and used a secret car to watch Boris Nemtsov... The other defendants also watched Boris Nemtsov. Gubashev, Eskerkhanov, and Bakhov also helped to conceal the signs of the crime," states the investigators' version.
