North Ossetia celebrates Day of Republic with exhibition of vintage cars and pie festival

On September 25, North Ossetia celebrated the double holiday, including the 80th anniversary of the republic and the 232nd anniversary of Vladikavkaz. The region organized mass celebrations, which were attended by several thousand people.

The celebrations were started at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time in Peace Avenue. Residents of the city had a chance to visit the opened exhibition of vintage cars, which presented 13 cars, popular in the Soviet era. Car collector Ruslan Gasiev submitted to the exhibition his Moskvich car, manufactured in 1959, and the car caused great interest of passers-by. The owner of the car himself has admitted that he did not expect so much attention to his car.

On September 25, the North-Ossetian capital held a traditional festival of Ossetian pies. The gastronomic event took part on the waterfront of the TerekRiver. This time, in addition to their cooking skills, contestants were to demonstrate their knowledge of the history of ethnic cuisine by responding to the questions of the jury.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Valery Abiev, an organizer of the gastronomic event, that the republic had held the festival of Ossetian pies for the fourth time.

"The number of people who attended the festival increased several times. People were excited so much," noted Valery Abiev.
