"Gazprom" stops supplying gas to three cities of Rostov Region

Starting from today, companies that provide heating to residents of the cities of Taganrog, Novocherkassk, Azov, and the Azov Region are deprived of gas supply because of their debts. This was announced by the director of the "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Rostov-on-Don". The Mayor's Office of Novocherkassk has promised the city residents that their houses will not be deprived of heating.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2015, the debt of the Rostov Region to the "Gazprom" has increased up to 3.5 billion roubles.

The disconnection of three cities of the Rostov Region from the gas supply was reported in Facebook by Vladimir Revenko, the director of the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Rostov-on-Don", a member of the Legislative Assembly for the Rostov Region.

The Mayor's Office of Novocherkassk has stated that the "Gazprom" will not cut residential houses and social facilities off heating supply. According to the Mayor's Office, the gas suppliers cannot stop or restrict the flow of gas to boiler plants, since that would contradict the order issued by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), the "Echo of Moscow" reports.
