Policeman killed in Dagestan to be awarded posthumously

The policeman, killed by militants in the village of Sergokala in Dagestan, will be posthumously nominated for a state award. This was reported by Irina Volk, the official spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of July 10, two young men were shelled and killed in a forest near the village of Sergokala. One of the killed men was a policeman. On September 7, during a special operation carried out in the town of Izberbash, three suspected militants were killed. In the mobile phone of one of the killed suspects, law enforcers discovered a video record showing how two young men were shot dead.

According to the MIA, the video record shows how an armed man tried to force the policeman to urge his friends and acquaintances to leave their service at the law enforcement bodies. In response, the policeman addressed his friends and said: "Keep working, brothers!" After this phrase, he was shot dead, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Irina Volk has emphasized that police officer Magomed Nurbagandov "in the face of death remained faithful to his oath."

"In the coming days, top-ranking officials of the Russian MIA intend to meet family members of Magomed Nurbagandov and personally thank his parents for bringing up a decent son. He will be posthumously nominated for a state award," reports Irina Volk as quoted by the "TASS".
