Permyakov's defence appeals against verdict

The advocate of Valery Permyakov, a soldier of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in the city of Gyumri, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for massacring the Avetisyan family, has lodged an appeal complaint.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 23 this year, the court sentenced Permyakov to life imprisonment for killing seven members of the Avetisyan family. The injured party has stated that the inquiry was unfair, and many important questions in the case remained unanswered. The casualties' relatives believe that Permyakov could not commit the crime alone.

The defence has appealed against the verdict in the part of the attempt of illegal crossing the Armenian-Turkish border, but refused to disclose the essence of the appeal complaint, said Eduard Agadjanyan, one of Permyakov's advocates.

Let us remind you that earlier Permyakov was sentenced by a Russian court to 10 years of imprisonment for a desertion, a theft and illegal possession of firearms. He has twice exposed to psychological and psychiatric examination, and twice was recognized sane.

  • Compensation decrease for illegal prosecution violates rights of KBR resident

The court ruling, which awarded Madin Gubzhokov compensation of 30,000 roubles for unlawful criminal prosecution, is incomparable with the moral harm caused by the actions of Azamat Kyaov, a former law enforcer.
