Law enforcers report names of men killed in Shamil District of Dagestan

The men killed in a shootout in the Shamil District were identified as blood brothers Nabi Gasanguseinov and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov. This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 23, two suspected members of the "Shamil" grouping were killed during a shootout in one of the gorges in the Shamil District.

The source has reported that no counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime has been earlier introduced in the Shamil District. Meanwhile, search and reconnaissance activities are often carried out in the area. "These activities involve no local law enforcers. Yesterday, they came across two guys who rendered armed resistance and were killed by return fire," the source has said.

According to him, the suspects were identified as Nabi Gasanguseinov, born in 1999, and his brother Gasangusein (two years older). Both of the brothers lived in the village of Goor-Khindakh. The law enforcement bodies report on discovery of two submachine guns and shells near the killed brothers.

Some villagers believe that the brothers were not militants, but shepherds.
