For four days of Olympic Games, natives of Caucasus won six medals for Russia
After the fourth day of the Olympic Games in Brazil, Russia got the fifth place in the medal standings with three gold, six silver and three bronze medals. Of them, six medals were obtained due to good results of natives of Northern and Southern Caucasus.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the first gold medal was won for Russia by Beslan Mudranov, a native of Kabardino-Balkaria, trained in the Krasnodar Territory, who spoke in judo competitions in weight category of up to 60 kg.
Besides, the gold medal was also won by Khasan Khalmurzaev, a native of Ingushetia, who on August 9 won the competition in the weight category of up to 81 kg.
On August 8, at the competitions in women's sabre fencing, the gold medal was won by Yana Egoryan, a native of Yerevan, the portal "sportarena.com" reports.
On the same day, Yulia Efimova, a native of Chechnya, was the silver medal. At present, she represents the Rostov Region.
Besides, at the Olympic Games, medals were won by athletes, representing two countries of South Caucasus Azerbaijan and Georgia, including Georgian judoka Lasha Shavdatuashvili and Azerbaijani judoka Rustam Orudjev.
