In Yerevan, rebels take physicians hostage

In Yerevan, a group of armed men has taken hostage the physicians, who entered the building to provide medical assistance to the victims. This was reported by the Armenian police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 17, members of the opposition movement "Constituent Parliament" seized the building of the patrol-and-post service police regiment and still hold it. By July 23, the rebels released all the policemen held hostage.

According to the Armenian police, the group of armed people took hostage the physicians who arrived to provide medical assistance to the victims.

"Last night, it was reported that two wounded person still stayed in the territory of the police regiment seized by the group of armed people. The law enforcement bodies have called on to provide medical assistance to the victims, but were refused. Relatives of the wounded persons have also called on to bring the victims to the hospital. The law enforcers have provided all the necessary conditions. However, when physicians arrived at the place, they were taken hostage," the website "Armenian Sputnik" quotes Ashot Agaronyan, the chief of the information and PR department of the Armenian Police.
