In Dagestan, "People Against Corruption" Party refuses to take part in parliamentary elections
Members of the "People Against Corruption" Party have explained their decision not to take part in the elections for the People's Assembly of Dagestan by the administrative pressure from the authorities.
Today, the statement confirming that the "People Against Corruption" Party withdrew its candidates from the elections for the People's Assembly of Dagestan has been published on the official pages of the Dagestani branch of the "People Against Corruption" Party in social networks.
"We, members and candidates of the 'People Against Corruption' Party have faced widespread administrative pressure... Despite our emotions and Dagestani temperament that initially encouraged us to use all our resources to take actions in response, we soberly evaluated the situation and consulted our leaders. Thus, we have decided that in such cases, it is impossible to use people as a tool of pressure... In order to avoid further conflict, we have decided to withdraw the 'People Against Corruption' Party from the elections to the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan 2016," announces the statement published in the official Facebook group of the Dagestani branch of the "People Against Corruption" Party.
