New plan for resolving conflict 'unacceptable' for Abkhazia
The Georgian president has introduced the 59th session of the United Nations General Assembly to a new project of the step-by-step resolution of the Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-Osetian conflicts, consisting of three main steps. They are the restoration of trust between the conflict parties, demilitarization of the conflict zones, and accordance of wide latitude to the autonomies.
Commenting on the project, Astamur Tania, political adviser for the president of Abkhazia, said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent no part of the project was acceptable for Abkhazia. "Abkhazia has gain independence and is inclined to build relations with Georgia only on terms of good-neighborliness. Any full of wide degree of autonomy is out of the question," Astamur Tania said.
