One of suspects killed in Dagestan identified as leader of "Makhachkala" militant grouping

As a result of the shootout in the Karabudakhkent District, Gusein Taghirov, who led the "Makhachkala" militant grouping, was killed. This was reported by law enforcers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 7, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in the Karabudakhkent District. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), seven militants and one Special Forces agent were killed, and three other law enforcers were wounded during the special operation. At about midnight, it became known about the discovery of the body of the eighth killed militant. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies, the men killed in the shootout with the law enforcers were members of the "Makhachkala" militant grouping.

One of the killed men has been preliminary identified as Gusein Taghirov, who led the "Makhachkala" militant grouping, the RIA "Novosti" reports today with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan.

Apart from 30-year-old Gusein Taghirov, the law enforcers have preliminary identified among the killed militants six other suspected active participants of the "Makhachkala" militant grouping, including 28-year-old Magomed Taghirov, 22-year-old Gusein Magomedov, 23-year-old Efendi Medjidov, 20-year-old Akhmed Ismailov, 36-year-old Rasul Khalilov, and 27-year-old Akhmed Zagirov, the "Life" reports with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies of the Dagestan.
