Number of suspects arrested in case of terror act in Istanbul reaches 30

In Turkey, a court has issued a ruling to take into custody 17 other suspects, including 11 citizens of Russia, on suspicion of involvement in the terror act at the airport of Istanbul.

On June 28, a terror act was committed at the Istanbul airport. It was reported that three explosions triggered by suicide bombers killed more than 40 persons and wounded 239 others. Sources reported about detained natives of Dagestan, Chechnya and Azerbaijan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 30, the Turkish media reported that 13 persons, including three foreigners, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the terror act. On July 4, it became known that the court arrested Elchin Bunyadov, a citizen of Azerbaijan, on suspicion of involvement in the terror act.

According to the agency "Dogan", 17 persons arrested in Turkey by the court decision are suspected of "involvement in an armed terrorist grouping," the "Interfax" reports today.

The total number of the suspects taken into custody has reached 30 people. Out of 17 persons, who have been charged today, 11 are citizens of Russia, the "TASS" reports with reference to the agency "AFP".

According to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the number of suspects includes natives of Dagestan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. "Unfortunately, our neighbours from Northern Caucasus are involved in the terror act," stated Recep Tayyip Erdogan as quoted by the "RBC" with reference to the newspaper "Hurriyet".
