Tiger driver from Dagestani FSIN charged with deaths of six persons

The criminal case of a road traffic accident with six casualties has been sent to the Khasavyurt District Court. The case involves a staff member of the Department for Dagestan of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) as a defendant.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 23, a driver of the Tiger armoured vehicle was detained after a road traffic accident. The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan has taken the progress of the investigation under its special control. On January 27, the court issued a warrant to arrest the driver, the Captain of the internal service of the FSIN Department for Dagestan.

According to the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan, as a result of the road traffic accident, six persons were killed and three others were seriously injured.

The investigators suggest that the road traffic accident occurred because the car driven by the FSIN Captain entered the oncoming lane. The criminal case was instituted under Article "violation of traffic regulations and rules of operation of vehicles, committed on imprudence and resulting in death of two or more persons", reports the website of the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan. The defendant faces the punishment of up to five years of compulsory labour or up to seven years of imprisonment.
