Residents of Talysh village ask to return them to their homes

The government of Nagorno-Karabakh completes the restoration works in the village of Alashan and continues the construction of a residential complex in the village of Kichan. It is planned to transfer residents of the village of Talysh there for a while. Talysh residents treat the project with doubts, since they fear that the temporary accommodation may become a permanent place of residence for them.

At night of April 2, residents of the near-border village of Talysh of the Martakert District were evacuated in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the conflict zone.

At present, about 30 families one-third of the Talysh community are accommodated at hotels of Stepanakert, and the rest went to Armenia. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Vilen Petrosyan, the community leader. According to him, the village was badly damaged by severe shelling and bombings.

On June 15, the village of Alashan is to complete repair of all buildings. According to Unan Tadevosyan, the press secretary of the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Urban Development, the repair works are financed from the state budget and on the charitable basis by Armenian communities of Armenia and Russia.

Local resident Ermine Saakyan believes that the best option for her family members is to get financial compensation and to use the funds to purchase a house in one of the villages of Nagorno-Karabakh. However, according to her, the option is not considered by officials.
