Bukulov tells about circumstances of Pliev's wounding

The wounding of Roland Pliev, an OMON (riot police) fighter, happened inadvertently, said the defendant Marat Bukulov. According to his version, he fired his pistol in order to stop his beating by the victim. Pliev himself has confirmed that had struck a few blows.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the defendant in the case of Pliev's injury is Marat (Marik) Bukulov, a 37-year-old resident of Vladikavkaz, who had confessed that he had fired at the policeman from the feeling of personal dislike.

Bukulov was a friend of the 39-year-old Vladimir Tskaev, who had been suspected of inflicting a gunshot wound to Pliev. Tskaev died at night on November 1, 2015, after interrogation at the Iriston police division.

On June 2, at the Leninsky District Court of Vladikavkaz, Larisa Dzardanova, the advocate for Bukulov, read out a letter from the defendant's neighbours, who characterized him on the positive side and believe that what happened at night on October 31, 2015, was not for his fault.

The letter also says that Bukulov has his sick mother, two children and non-working wife.

Bukulov himself has stated that he had decided to make confessions for the sake of justice and that he also feared for his life, in view of Tskaev's murder.

Bukulov has assured that he had no intention to cause injury to Pliev and did it in self-defence. According to his version, should Pliev have behaved adequately, nothing would have happened. The defendant said that the shot had occurred through negligence.
