In Moscow, participants of rally demand from Turkey to recognize Armenian Genocide

Today, in Moscow, people have held a rally under the motto: "I Remember and Demand", dedicated to the memory of victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. Participants of the rally have demanded from Turkey to recognize and to condemn the Armenian Genocide, as well as to avoid military intervention in the affairs of other states.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that every year, on April 24, residents of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh and members of the Armenian Diasporas in various countries mark the Day of memory of victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923.

The rally in Moscow, which was attended by several hundred participants, was organized by the Union of Armenians of Russia. In their hands, participants of the rally were holding the flags of Russia, Armenia, Greece, and Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as posters, reading, in particular: "The Armenian Genocide and the Karabakh conflict are links of one chain", "The Erdogan's aim is the Ottoman Empire from Crimea to Kazan", "Syria, Kurds, Artsakh: impunity and permissiveness", and "Recognize the independence of Artsakh".

At the beginning of the rally, the participants announced a minute of silence, during which the people closed their mouths with bands to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

Turkey, in contrast to Germany, which repents its crimes, is unwilling to recognize its responsibility for the events of 1915, states Oleg Pakholkov, a State Duma deputy from the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia) Party.

"This is one of the worst crimes in the world, and the wound is still bleeding. And we are well aware that the basis for the current events in Karabakh was laid in 1915," Oleg Pakholkov has emphasized.
