Khasavyurt residents report on search in "Eastern" mosque

Today, in Khasavyurt, law enforcers have seized PCs from the "Eastern" mosque, which is led by Imam Magomednabi Magomedov, detained on suspicion of calling for terrorism. This was reported by believers of the mosque.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomednabi Magomedov, Imam of the Salafi "Eastern" mosque, was detained in Khasavyurt on April 8. According to eyewitnesses, the Imam was detained when he came to the local ROVD (District Interior Division) and demanded to release the believers of the "Hospital" mosque detained earlier. The law enforcement authorities assert that the Imam urged believers to terrorist activities and published on the Internet "materials aimed at inciting hatred." The court pronounced the pre-trial restriction against the Imam in the form of detention in custody for two months.

Today, about 7:00 a.m. Moscow time, law enforcers has carried out a search in the "Eastern" mosque, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by one of the believers of the mosque.

"They have said that the search is being conducted within the investigation into the criminal case, instituted against Magomednabi Magomedov, Imam of the mosque. Nobody was detained, and law enforcers found nothing illegal," said the believer. He has also added that the law enforcers seized system blocks from PCs of the mosque.

According to the source, "on the other days, the house and the business sites owned by Imam Magomednabi" were also searched; however, "the law enforcers found nothing illegal there."
