Yerevan: protesters demand from Russia to stop supplying weapons to Azerbaijan (+video)

Russia supplies to Azerbaijan the weapons systems that Baku cannot purchase from other countries, and the delivered weapon will certainly be used against Armenia. This was stated by participants of the protest action held in Yerevan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone was escalated: the parties to the conflict were engaged in hostilities with the use of armoured vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems, and aviation. At noon of April 5, the sides declared a truce, with periodic exchange of mutual accusations of violation of the agreement.

The "Caucasian Knot" was told by Arthur Danielyan, a member of the initiative group "The protest against the international inaction #KarabakhNow", who took part in the protest action in Yerevan, that the Armenian society faced growing anti-Russian sentiments in connection with the sale of Russian weapons to Azerbaijan. According to the activist, the Russian weapons have no analogues throughout the world.

"Not every country can boast possessing such missile technology as Russia. And the argument that if Russia does not sell weapons, then Turkey will sell them, has no basis. Turkey is unable to sell to Azerbaijan the 'Sunheat' (heavy flamethrower system) or the 'Smerch' (multiple launch rocket system). China is able to sell them, but it does not do it. The United States and France also do not sell them. And Russia, which is a mediator in the conflict, sells them," said Arthur Danielyan.
