MIA: two militants' helpers detained in Chechnya

Chechen policemen have detained helpers of illegal armed formations (IAFs), one of whom had helped the criminal grouping of the field commander Yasir Amarat, killed in 2010, said the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, 2010, the Chechen authorities reported a possible severe injury of Yasir Amarat, a native of Jordan and one of the leaders of the North-Caucasian armed underground, also known as "Amir Yasir". On June 11, the head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov said that Amarat was killed in the mountains of Chechnya during a special operation.

Today, the press service of the Chechen MIA announced a detention of a 55-year-old resident of the village of Marzoy-Mokhk, Vedeno District of Chechnya, who, according to preliminary data, was involved in Yasir Amarat's criminal gang, the RIA "Novosti" reports, adding that the detainee has already made a confession.

Also, according to the MIA, in the village Sernovodskoe, Sunzha District, a 28-year-old resident of the village of Assinovskaya was detained, who is suspected in helping two IAF members, killed in autumn of 2012, when rendering armed resistance to law enforcers. According to investigators, the detainee has supplied militants with foodstuffs.
