NKR's MoD reports armed clashes in conflict zone
A series of local fights are on between the armed forces of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) and Azerbaijan, which broke out this night, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports. The enemy has shelled a number of dwelling settlements, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the NKR has stated.
According to the MoD of the NKR, last night and in the morning, the Azerbaijani party undertook offensive operations in the southern, south-eastern and north-eastern directions, using artillery, armoured vehicles and aircrafts.
"Apart from the front edge, the enemy's artillery has attacked civilian settlements and a number of places of permanent deployment of military units," said the MoD.
At the moment, "along the entire length of the above directions of the contact line of the Armed Forces of the NKR and Azerbaijan, armed clashes continue."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 1, the MoD of the NKR stated that within the last 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan had made over 2700 shots at Karabakh positions. In its turn, Azerbaijan accused Armenia of 142 acts of shelling.
