Pentagon's report becomes eighth report on death of Abu Umar al-Shishani

Last night, the Pentagon spokesman has reported that Abu Umar al-Shishani, one of the leaders of the terrorist grouping "Islamic State" (IS), died from injuries got in an airstrike which took place near the town of Al-Shaddadah in northeastern Syria on March 4.

Tarkhan Batirashvili, one of the leaders of the terrorist IS, banned in Russia, was born in 1986 in the Pankisi Gorge. His father is a Georgian, and mother is of Kistin nationality (a Georgian Chechen).

The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that on March 4, the Pentagon reported on an air attack carried out on March 4 in the Syrian province of al-Hasakah to kill Abu Umar al-Shishani. On March 13, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that Abu Umar al-Shishani had been in a state of clinical death for several days already.

Officials of the Pentagon have confirmed the death of Abu Umar al-Shishani after the respective report of the US "CNN" TV Channel, which referred to two top-ranking officials.

According to the "CNN", the militant died under the care of doctors at the hospital, located not far from the Syrian city of Al-Raqqah.

Earlier, the death of Abu Umar al-Shishani has been reported at least seven times, and his capture was also once reported; however, those data were not confirmed. The first report on the death of Abu Umar al-Shishani came in February 2013. Last time, the death of Abu Umar al-Shishani was reported by the Iranian media on October 11, 2015.
