Kurdish protesters in Yerevan call West to abandon cooperation with Turkey

Members of the Kurdish community in Armenia have called on the international community to stop contacts with Turkey. According to their story, the Turkish government is supplying the militants of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), which is banned in Russia, with weapons, and also uses the army to intimidate Kurds.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 9, about 50 Kurdish women with children took part in a protest action in Yerevan, demanding to put an end to the genocide of the Kurdish people in Turkey.

Western countries should abandon cooperation with the Turkish authorities, said Zhenya Amiryan, the chair of the committee "Kurdistan". According to her story, Turkey supplies the IS with weapons to liquidate Kurds in Syria; and in Turkey, the authorities make use of the army against the Kurds.

The Turkish authorities are terrorizing the Kurds; they deploy tanks in their cities, smash residential areas and rape women, said Amiryan.

The international community should pay attention to the problem of Kurds in Turkey and Middle East, said Knyaz Gasanov, the head of the Kurdish community of Armenia. According to his story, Kurds in Syria are attacked by IS militants, and in Turkey – by the national army.

The head of the community has also compared the actions of the Turkish government against Kurds with the genocide of Armenians in 1915.
