Four residents of Dagestan arrested on suspicion of involvement in "Hizb ut-Tahrir"

The court in Makhachkala has ruled to place Murad Valiev, Gadji Ramazanov, Sharip Khabibov and Magomed Magomedov, suspected of involvement in "Hizb ut-Tahrir", a terrorist organization banned in Russia, in custody.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 2 in Makhachkala, nine people were taken to the police station on suspicion of involvement in the "Hizb ut-Tahrir". Later, four of them were released, said a law enforcement source.

The Sovietskiy District Court of Makhachkala has granted the petition asking to arrest Murad Valiev, Gadji Ramazanov, Sharip Khabibov and Magomed Magomedov. According to investigators, they were members of the grouping engaged in organizing the activities and dissemination of ideas of the "Hizb ut-Tahrir", says the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan.

The suspects may face prison terms from 10 years up to life imprisonment.

Let us note here that on March 3 relatives of Gadji Ramazanov stated violations during a search of his house. According to their version, the power agents, who conducted the search, planted extremist literature into his house.
