In Armenia, about 3000 people attend rally against referendum outcomes
On December 7, in Yerevan, supporters of the front "No!" gathered at Freedom Square. They demanded to recognize as null and void the results of the referendum on the constitutional reform. The rally was attended by members of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) and the initiative group "You won't deceive us!" The rally organized by the front "No!" was joined by the leaders of the front "New Armenia", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports. According to the organizers, the rally was attended by about 3000 people.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 6, Armenia held voting at the referendum on the constitutional reform project. Accoding to the Central Election Commision, the voter turnout reached 50.51%, while 63.35% of the votes gave their voices in favour of the constitutional reform.
"The election results have been falsified through old and new techniques," the participants of the rally were told by Aram Manukyan, the secretary of the ANC faction.
According to him, under the instructions of the authorities, 80-100 people were brought to each polling station, although they had no rights to vote at those stations.
Aram Manukyan has noted that the opposition is not going to give in to the authorities and intends to seek the cancellation of the referendum results.
