"Novaya Gazeta": parents of Ukrainian teenager killed in Belorechensk refuse to bury his body in Kuban
Parents of a 16-year-old teenager, who died in the Belorechensk juvenile correctional colony, were able to get his son's body only after they had written a statement renouncing the funeral in the KrasnodarTerritory, the "Novaya Gazeta" reports. According to the newspaper, warders of the juvenile correctional colony beat the sentenced citizen of Ukraine more severe than other inmates.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to investigators, on November 25, staff members of the Belorechensk juvenile correctional colony beat newcomers, including with the use of special means. Six teenagers were injured, and one died. In the case, seven staff members of the juvenile correctional colony were detained for two months.
On December 4, the parents of the 16-year-old teenager, who died in the Belorechensk juvenile correctional colony, were given out their son's body.
The teenager's parents wanted to bury their son's body at home, in the village of Grushevo of the Transcarpathian Region of Ukraine; however, officials of the Belorechensk juvenile correctional colony tried to persuade the teenager's parents to bury their son's body in the Krasnodar Territory. On December 4, the teenager's relatives wrote a statement renouncing the funeral in the KrasnodarTerritory, and only then the body of their son was given out to them, the "Novaya Gazeta" reports.
According to the teenager's parents, the face of their deceased son bore visible injuries. The parents associated the warders' demand to bury their son's body in Russia with the fact that the killed teenager was a citizen of Ukraine and that the Kuban Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) wanted to prevent any international resonance, the "Novaya Gazeta" reports.
