Resident of Derbent asks to change investigator in her son's disappearance case
The mother of Magomed Karakhanov, who went missing on May 6 in Dagestan, has turned to the police of Derbent asking to hand the case of searching for his son to another investigator. According to her story, the current investigator is inactive.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Guli Karakhanova believes that her 20-year-old son Magomed, who suffers from asthma and is a Category II invalid, was kidnapped on May 6. On July 24, the woman turned to rights defenders asking for help in searching for her son. The police claim that Magomed could be linked with the militant killed in the Tabasaran District, but Karakhanova rejects this information. On July 30, she filed an application to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) asking to help in her search.
The application (a copy is at the disposal of the "Caucasian Knot") submitted by Karakhanova on August 10 to the police of Derbent states that the investigator engaged in Magomed's disappearance case is doing nothing to establish the whereabouts of her son.
According to her story, the searching for Magomed is at standstill.
"Three months have elapsed; my son is absent; and I still can't force them to open a criminal case on his disappearance," said Karakhanova.
