ICRF finds action of Stavropol power agents in Chechnya legitimate

The Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has refused to open a criminal case on abuse of power by policemen from the Stavropol Territory, who conducted their special operation in Chechnya and killed Djambulat Dadaev. This was stated by Zaurbek Sadakhanov, the advocate of the Dadaev family.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Djambulat Dadaev, who had been on the federal wanted list on suspicion of shelling a businessman in Stavropol, was killed in Grozny on April 19. The operation was conducted by employees of the Chief Department (ChD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Stavropol. Then, after the death of Dadaev, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov criticized the actions of the Stavropol operative agents, stating that nobody may carry out any special operations in his republic without coordination with local authorities.

Division Four of the Department for Investigating Especially Important Cases of the ChD of the ICRF for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) has completed the pre-investigation check of the incident in Grozny, the "Kommersant" has reported today referring to the advocate Zaurbek Sadakhanov.

According to the "Kommersant", "the bosses of the above Division in fact found the actions of the Stavropol law enforcers legitimate and refused to open a criminal case against them for abuse of office."
